High energy smoothie drink

Preparation:-

•  Soak 1 tablespoon of linseeds overnight in a glass of water

•  Soak half a tablespoon of sunflower seeds overnight in a glass of water

In the Morning:-

Put the above ingredients together with the additional ingredients below into a liquidiser:-

•  1 sliced banana (or an apple)

•  Some berries if available – i.e. raspberries, blueberries, strawberries

•  1 dessert spoon of flaxseed oil

Liquidise and then make up to half a pint with water - and liquidise again.

Drink straight away.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

You should not heat or cook with flaxseed oil (also known as linseed oil). It is also important to keep it in the refrigerator to maintain it's freshness. You can buy it from any good health food shop.

Flaxseeds and other seeds are excellent sources of valuable essential fatty acids, these oils are not fattening as many people think. They increase your metabolic rate and energy levels which means that you burn more calories (these fats keep us slim!) and have many other health benefits. Berries are well known for their antioxidant properties making this a highly nutritious drink to get you going in the mornings.
